A sword and dagger manufactured by the Valencia community in Spain and inspired by the actual sword and dagger presented to Grand Master La Valette during the Great Siege of 1565, has been donated to Heritage Malta.

The donation came about after the Spanish Association of Friends of Malta commissioned these works in gold, silver and glass.

The sword and dagger were presented to Heritage Malta's chairman Mario Tabone during a ceremony held at the agency's head office in Valletta.

The two items are being exhibited at Heritage Malta's Head Office in Merchants Street between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. until today. The display features information on the original sword and dagger. Admission is free of charge. The exhibition will be mounted at the Inquisitor's Palace in Vittoriosa between October 7 and 21. It will then move to the Gozo Area office in the Citadel between November 20 and December 7.
