Pier Ferdinando Casini, president of the Inter-Parliamentary Union, will address the opening session of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Mediterranean being hosted here tomorrow and Friday.
The opening session will take place at the Radisson Hotel, St Julians.
It will also be addressed by Anton Tabone, Speaker of the House of Representatives, and by Abdelwahed Radi, president of the Bureau of the Parliamentary Assembly.
During the inaugural session of the assembly held in Amman last year, Malta was chosen as the headquarters of the assembly after the government offered Spinola Palace in St Julians for the purpose.
The opening session will be followed by the signing of the headquarters agreement by Tonio Borg, Minister for Justice and Home Affairs, on behalf of the government, and by Mr Radi.
