Three in court after Sta Venera drugs raid

Two men and a woman, all resident in Sta Venera, were this morning arraigned in court to face drug charges following a raid on a Sta Venera apartment by the police on Tuesday.

Noel Calleja, 28, was remanded in custody after he pleaded not guilty to trafficking cocaine and heroin, resisting and insulting the police, relapsing and breaking the conditions of a previous release.

His brother Joseph Calleja, 30, pleaded guilty to the same charges and was remanded in custody until sentencing.

Doreen Bugeja, 33, pleaded guilty to possession but not trafficking drug.
