Police launch investigation into officers' conduct

The police have launched an investigation into the conduct of a number of policemen after a doctor complained that he and his ambulance crew were physically attacked by a woman in Zejtun on Tuesday night despite the police presence.

The agitated woman had just been involved in a traffic accident.

l-orizzont reported today that the attack took place despite the presence of a police sergeant and three constables. The newspaper said the sergeant told the medical team to leave, once the woman did not need their services. He also told a journalist to do likewise.

The police said the investigation was launched on Wednesday morning as soon as the doctor filed his complaint.
