My family and I recently booked an Air Malta flight from Glasgow to Malta to spend Christmas with our families; we paid roughly £578.

Last week I was checking the Air Malta website and noticed that all flights from Glasgow had been redirected through Heathrow so I phoned Air Malta customer services and was told that as from this summer there will be no direct flights to and from Glasgow, but was given no reason. I have to say the customer care officer was very nice and apologetic but even she didn't know the reason for this.

To make matters worse they are still contacting people to let them know of this change. I am hugely disappointed. Air Malta has disregarded us customers and even though we were offered connection flights at no extra charge, what will I or any other passengers who use this route do the next time? Will we be charged over £1,000, because right now if I were to book my flight again I would have to pay £1,455, notwithstanding the delays and all other inconveniences when stopping over at Heathrow.

I have sent a complaint to Air Malta and I hope it will listen to its customers.
