The University is inviting all prospective students, including those awaiting results of their supplementary or other examinations and current University students waiting for their final examinations results, to submit their application for admission to courses commencing this October.

A full list of courses on offer may be viewed on the website www.um.edu.mt/for/prospective.

As from tomorrow, the information booklet on these courses and application forms may be obtained from the University's Admissions and Records Office or the Students Advisory Services during office hours (8.30 a.m. to noon) and at the preparatory meetings for prospective undergraduate students which will be held this week in the University's Temi Zammit Hall as follows:

• On Friday from 9.30 to 11.30 a.m., for courses offered by the faculties of Architecture and Civil Engineering, Dental Surgery, Economics, Management and Accountancy, Engineering, Medicine and Surgery, Science, Information and Communication Technology, the institutes of Agriculture, Health Care, Islands and Small States, Baroque Studies, Public Administration and Sports, and the Mediterranean Academy of Diplomatic Studies.

• On Friday from 6 to 8 p.m., for courses offered by the faculties of Arts, Education, Laws, Theology, the centres for Communication Technology, Labour Studies, the European Documentation and Research Centre, and the institutes of Conservation and Management of Cultural Heritage, Forensic Studies, Physical Education and Sports, and the International Environment Institute.

These meetings will be addressed by representatives of the Students Advisory Services, the Counselling Services, the Admissions and Records Office/SIMS Office and Stipends Office.

On Saturday 19th July at 9 a.m. a meeting will also be held at the University Gozo Centre, to give advice and information for Gozo-based students.

The Students Advisory Services provides prospective and current University students with information and advice on practical or personal issues related to career paths and courses of study within the local context, and answers enquiries relating to courses of study. Students who sat the Matriculation Certificate examination this year may submit an online application for admission to University. This application form can be accessed by logging on www.um.edu.mt/apply as from Saturday at 8.30 a.m. till July 23 at 12.30 p.m.

A fee of €23.29 is payable prior to submitting the application. This may be transferred into the University bank account at HSBC (account number: 0850 3145 8051) or at Bank of Valletta (account number: 4001 3540 847) at any of their branches in Malta and Gozo or through internet banking. All application fees are non-refundable.

Hard copy applications will be received at the University's M.A. Vassalli Lecture Centre (Gateway Building), or at the University Gozo Centre, Mġarr Road, Xewkija, Gozo, as follows:

• On July 21 from 8.30 a.m. to 12.30 p.m. for candidates with surnames starting with A to C;

• On July 22 from 8.30 a.m. to 12.30 p.m. for candidates with surnames starting with D to M;

• On July 23 from 8.30 a.m. to 12.30 p.m. for candidates with surnames N to Z.

Late applications (except for courses where the number of students is limited) may be submitted up to August 29 against an additional late application fee of €34.94 and thereafter at the discretion of the faculty, centre or institute concerned, and against an additional late application fee of €116.47.

Any requests for amendments (change or transfer of course) submitted after July 23 are considered as late applications.
