A fully clothed male body has been found floating in the sea opposite the HSBC branch in Bugibba.

The corpse is probably that of an Englishman, the police said.

Sources said the corpse was first seen by some children who alerted their parents who informed the police.

The police sad it seemed the man, who has not yet been identified, jumped into the sea earlier and drowned.

An inquiry is being held.
