The Church has submitted a formal complaint to the Electoral Commission requesting steps to be taken against Maltatoday.

The online newspaper, the Church said, failed to respect an embargo on a statement by the bishops.  

It asked the Commission to take all steps according to law to immediately stop Maltatoday from broadcasting the statement.
