Union Ħaddiema Magħqudin has complained that chauffeur-driven vehicles, known as black cabs, are not allowed to use bus lanes under the new regulations.

“This is not only discriminatory but also creates unjust competition because all other public transport vehicles can use this lane, but not chauffeur driven vehicles,” the UĦM said.

It said the government had given it conflicting reasons for this decision and called on it to permit chauffeur driven vehicles to make use of bus lanes and retain their standard of service.
