Volkswagen has launched a new small car: the up! It is a city specialist for many of the world’s countries and a car with charisma and great potential. The three door and five door up! by Volkswagen is one of the most important automotive highlights of the past year. All signs point to a big future for the small car. In Germany, for example, the up! immediately garnered first place in its class in registration statistics.
Small in size though it may be, it achieves greatness in terms of quality perception, modern technology of a kind never before featured in such a compact car, and advanced functions that make many an everyday journey remarkably pleasant. It is a Volkswagen in the true sense of the word and the only one in its class.
Just 3.5 metres long, the new up! is an ultra-modern interpretation of Volkswagen design, including the shape of its side windows and full-glass tailgate. The horizontal contours of the front section and the clear surfaces of the side panels likewise have characteristic Volkswagen styling for a design that will create a modern impression at first glance as it will for many years to come.
The New VW up! is avalable in two engines – the 1.0i 12v 60 BHP ( 105 g/km ) or 1.0i 12v 75 BHP ( 108 g/km ), both manual or automatic. The equipment line available is the Move up! You will recognise it from the colour-keyed door mirror housings and door handles, and the specially designed full wheel trim. The interior outfitting includes shiny black decor elements and stylish fabrics, and the standard comfort pack pampers the occupants with many practical features such as electric windows and remote central locking.
The new up! starts from only €10,990 (€9,990 if you scrap a car ) and comes standard with power steering, air conditioning, electric windows, remote central locking, radio CD, front and front side airbags, ABS and much more. The VW up! is also available in a five door version for an extra €500.
