The largest figolla ever made was inaugurated this morning at The Point Shoppng Centre in Sliema by St Nicholas College Boys Secondary of Naxxar and Golden Harvest, in aid of the Puttinu Cares Foundation.

The figolla, in the shape of a lamb, measured 300cm by 300cm. Eighty kilogrammes of flour, 60 kilogrammes of sugar, 40 kilorgrammes of vegetable shortening, 350 eggs, 55 kilogrammes almonds and 45 kilogrammes of white chocolate were used in the making of the figolla.

Donations were collected by students and staff in the past weeks from relatives, friends and neighbours.

Following the inauguration, portions of the figolla started to be sold at €2 per piece.
