Sword-wielding knights upon charging horses, merry bouts of tavern dancing and a cameo by tenor Joseph Calleja form part of the Maltese film Adormidera which will hit the cinemas on October 2.

Produced by Great Siege Productions and directed by Ray Mizzi, the film is set in the medieval era and tells the story of army general Tristan de León and the enigmatic Adormidera.

The story unfolds as five surviving soldiers journey home from battle.

Along the way, tired and hungry, they come across a fortress belonging to a lord they are acquainted with. Within the fort they witness something particularly strange, and while four of the soldiers decide to ignore it, Tristan just cannot help getting himself involved.

Involving over 150 locals, the film is one of the biggest Maltese productions. It is shot in the English language and stars former fitness model Andrei Claude as Tristan and local actors Audrey Harrison as Adormidera and Henry Zammit Cordina as Lord William.

Adormidera is a fictional medieval story about five soldiers returning back home after a long and tedious battle. It is a mix of love, hatred, vengeance and clashes.
