Non-medical home care organisation, Seniors Helping Seniors, is opening its doors in Malta to help older seniors live self-sufficiently. The organisation offers companionship, transportation, meal preparation, overnight stays and home-maintenance services by seniors who get paid for their work.
Husband and wife team Simon and Christina Fiorini Lowell are excited to get started and work with the compassionate seniors of the Maltese community.
“Helping seniors support each other, maintain their independence and enjoy their lives will make a huge difference for families,” said Mr Fiorini Lowell.
The Fiorini Lowells are confident that the concept of seniors helping other seniors will be well received and embraced by the Maltese community.
“Maltese people are already so connected and supportive,” said Ms Fiorini Lowell. “We are here to help foster that support by helping families ease their worry and spend quality time together.”
Vice-president Namrata Yocom Jan said the Fiorini Lowells were the best team to introduce this service to Malta. “Their compassion, dedication, sense of community and understanding of caregiving will make a true difference to families.”
Philip Yocom and his wife Kiran co-founded Seniors Helping Seniors in-home services, which began as a non-profit organisation serving Berks County, Pennsylvania, the US, over 10 years ago.
“What began as a heartfelt mission to fill a need that was not being served by our local community is now recognised as a prime business opportunity fuelled by the fastest growing demographic in our society,” said Mr Yocom.
Seniors Helping Seniors has grown to over 250 franchises across the US, the UK, and now Malta.
“We support all of our franchises with the expertise we have gained in running the Seniors Helping Seniors Berks County office.
“We also provide marketing, sales, management and technology support. We believe we have found a practical, cost-effective way to help seniors remain independent and to continue contributing to their community,” added Mr Yocom.
