A 39-year-old man from Cospicua who escaped custody while at Mater Dei Hospital was recaptured early today, the police said.

Jesmond Cassar, known as it-Titu, was undergoing a drug rehabilitation programme.

He was taken to hospital after he claimed to be suffering from serious pain and escaped custody of the nurse accompanying him.

He was re-arrested by the police Rapid Intervention Unit in Marsa at about 2 a.m.
