Commissioner for Animal Welfare, Manuel Buhagiar, said on Times Talk on Tuesday that talks had started between the government, Transport Malta and interested parties on the drafting of a legal notice to regulate horses on the roads.

The meeting followed a spate of incidents involving horses, including two, in Attard and Gzira, which saw two cars extensively damaged and two horses injured and put down.

Joining in the discussion on whether we are an animal-loving nation were animal rights activist Moira Delia and horse owner Brenda Attard.
