Thomas Smith Group presented €12,000, raised in aid of the Malta Community Chest Fund from its charity swim, to President Marie-Louise Coleiro Preca at San Anton Palace, Attard.

The President thanked the group for supporting the MCCF and L-Istrina.

Managing director Joe Gerada said he was proud that members of the organisation, and other participants, showed such solidarity and altruism. “I am glad we were able to make a contribution to the MCCF, whose remit is to help philanthropic institutions and, more importantly, individuals with different needs,” he said.

The Charity Swim is an annual fundraising event that attracts a good number of swimmers.

Gerada, together with Thomas Smith Port Agency general manager Anton Buttigieg and marketing manager Liana Cachia, were accompanied by Andre Cassar, representing Thomas Smith swimmers, Ashley Rizzo, representing volunteers from the company, and Sebastian and Thomas Parlato Trigona, on behalf of young participants, together with their mother Liza.
