A man suffered head injuries when the roof of his house in St Angelo Street, Sliema, collapsed this morning.

The incident happened at about 9.45am when roofing slabs collapsed as the man, 64, walked on them.  A ceiling on a lower floor than collapsed and the man fell two storeys.

He was pulled form the debris by neighbours who rushed to the scene. His wife, who was inside, escaped unhurt.
