A 36-year-old woman from Mosta was slightly injured in a head-on collision between two cars in San Gwann at around 4am.

The police said the woman was a passenger in a Toyota Corsa that was being driven by a 33-year-old man from Mosta.

The Toyota was involved in a collision with a Peugeot 306 that was being driven by a 27-year-old man from Zejtun.

The accident happened in Vjal ir-Rihan, San Gwann, one lane of which has been closed due to road works.

The remaining lane is being used for traffic in both directions.

Residents said the road is unlit and drivers only realise that one lane is closed when they see a traffic sign just 20 metres away from the diversion.
