The photo shows Republic Street, next to Independence Square (It-Tokk), Victoria. It is the main (only one in that part) through road of Victoria, thus being used by buses, construction trucks, cars and motorcycles in both directions. It is very problematic when trucks or buses pass.

Being the main artery, speeding is also very frequent. Tour groups on the way to the Citadel have to proceed in the middle of this self-evident tragedy waiting to happen. To make matters worse, the pedestrian crossing has recently been moved . Surely, something needs to be done to avert an accident involving pedestrians. The works on the square are in limbo. So moving the hoarding a couple of metres could literally save life and limb.
