The funeral of Emanuel Scicluna, the Archbishop’s father, is being held on Wednesday, the Curia said.

Mr Scicluna, 85, died late on Thursday in a Rome hospital where he was admitted during the presentation of the pallium by Pope Francis to new archbishops, including his son.

The Curia said the funeral cortege will leave Mater Dei Hospital for St Sebastian parish church in Qormi where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 3.30pm followed by private burial in the family vault at Lija cemetery.
