The Euroclassica International Conference will be held at the Osborne Hotel, Valletta, from Friday to next Sunday. It is organised by the Malta Classics Association.
About 50 Classics professors from Austria, Belgium, Chile, Croatia, Denmark, UK, France, Germany, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Portugal, Romania, Spain, Sweden and Switzerland are attending.
Euroclassica, a confederation of Classics associations in Europe, was set up in 1991 by various associations of teachers and professors of Latin and Greek. It meets every year in a country where Classics is taught, and holds courses in Europe.
The Malta Classics Association is a collaborative initiative of staff and students of the University of Malta’s Department of Classics and Archaeology.
