Marsa won both shields of the September 8 regatta in Grand Harbour this afternoon. This was Marsa's second consecutive solo win. In 2013, it won the shield jointly with Cospicua.

Marsa won two races in the B category and another three in the open.

Vittoriosa placed second and Senglea third in the B category and Senglea placed second and Cospicua third in the open.

The races, in Grand Harbour, were watched by several hundred people.

Before the races started, Archbishop Charles Scicluna blessed the regatta boats and drew the lots to decide the lanes the boats were to follow.
