The Nationalist Party said today that various criminal cases reported over the past few days, including burglaries, theft and violence were leading people to be concerned about their security.

The shadow minister for home affairs, Beppe Fenech Adami, said that the violence in Paceville on Saturday-Sunday night demonstrated how the government was not allocating enough resources to the police force.

Dr Fenech Adami congratulated police officers who do their duty, such as by having recently solved a spate of burglaries in Sliema, but he called on the government to allocate more personnel and equipment to the police force in areas such as Sliema, San Ġwann, St Paul's Bay, St Julian's, Swieqi, Gzira and Paceville.
