St George’s Square in Valletta is being transformed into the Rosetta Satellite Space Mission with life-sized satellites, planets, rocket shows… and a green alien, ahead of tonight’s anticipated Science in the City festival.

Rosetta is the first spacecraft to orbit a comet and a team of students and their lecturers will tonight trace its journey on top of the Ariane rocket that took off in 2004 and landed on comet 67P in 2014. The ‘rocket’ will take-off at from St George’s Square at 6pm, every 30 minutes.

Apart from the interactive set-up, there will also be a series of discussions on aliens and comets in the square, kicking off at 7pm.

This event forms part of the annual festival being held in the capital at 6pm tonight. And includes hands-on activities, experiments, health checks and robot demonstrations, among numerous other activities.
