A man who was hit by a glass during an argument at a bar in Hamrun is in a critical condition.

The police said the 54-year-old man from Birkirkara was hospitalised suffering from a head injury at 12.30am.

The man had been drinking at the Three Monkeys bar in Farsons Street. A substantial amount of blood could be seen in the street.

He was taken to hospital from the Floriana health centre, where he had been taken by an unknown person.

An inquiry is being held.
