Portraits of about 2,000 people who played a prominent role in shaping Malta’s history have been brought together in a book offering a visual narrative of the country’s past and present.
The National Portrait Gallery of Malta, published by Miller Publishing, is a coffee-table museum that offers readers the experience of walking through an art gallery as they leaf through its pages.
Author Nicholas de Piro and his team took 10 years to complete their research.
The book includes photographs, paintings, drawings, sculptures and caricatures with the earliest portrait being that of Count Roger.
Miller Publishing will be launching the book at the Malta Book Festival being held at the Mediterranean Conference Centre between November 4 and 8.
