Northbound traffic from the University to Triq Dun Karm, Birkirkara (the Birkirkara by-pass) is being diverted through the Msida Skate Park because of damage in the underpass linking the two.

Traffic police are on site to ensure the safety of commuters until the area is inspected and any danger eliminated, the police said.

Transport Malta said in a statement the bridge below the bypass was damaged by a heavy vehicle. It said it was evaluating the damage caused and work would start immediately.
