Maestro Michael Laus will conduct the Malta Philharmonic orchestra in the second programme forming part of the Chamber Orchestra concert series, which was put together specifically for the Robert Sammut Hall in Floriana.

The concert will comprise three works by three individual composers, featuring violinist Agnieszka Kuźma as soloist, and will take place on Friday and Saturday.

Igor Stravinsky’s Concerto in D for strings will kick off the programme, followed by Mikołaj Górecki’s Concerto Notturno for violin and orchestra. The concert will come to a close with Franz Schubert’s Symphony Nr 5.

Mro Laus has guest-conducted a number of prestigious international orchestras. He performs regularly as piano and harpsichord player, and has appeared as music director of a number of operatic productions in Malta and abroad.

Agnieszka Kuźma has been a member of the MPO since November 2014. She is a graduate of the Music Academy in Wroclaw, and also obtained a Master of Arts from the Royal Conservatory of Music in Brussels where she studied under the tutelage of Professor Katalyn Sebestien. She is also a member of The World Orchestra.

The concert starts at 7.30pm. All concerts at Robert Sammut Hall are part of the MPO Loyalty Scheme.
