Air Malta said today it will start operating scheduled services between Malta and Palermo as from July 4.

These flights will operate in addition to the 13 weekly flights between
Malta and Catania/Sicily and reinforce the airline’s leading position between Italy and Malta bringing the number of flights between Sicily and Malta to 15.

The flights to Palermo will be on Mondays and Thursdays and will continue in winter.

The airline said it was expected to carry around 20,000 passengers in the first year of operation.
