A man is in critical condition after being hit by a car this afternoon on Valletta’s Lascaris waterfront.

The man, a 45-year-old Egyptian, was reportedly hit by a Peugeot 307 being driven towards Floriana at around 12.20pm. The driver is a 36-year-old Valletta resident.

An ambulance rushed the victim to Mater Dei hospital, where he remains in a critical state.

Police are investigating.
