The police have issued an appeal for information on the whereabouts of Andrew Mangion, the prime suspect in the murder of his wife Eleanor, whose body was found in a Qormi warehouse last night.
Anyone having information about him or his whereabouts was requested to phone, even anonymously, on 119 or21224001 or Qormi police station on 22942378 or 21446133.
Eleanor Mangion Walker, 33 of Swieqi, died from a head injury caused by a blunt object, the police said. She and her husband were in separation proceedings.
Her body was found in a warehouse following a tip-off late yesterday.
The Rapid Intervention Unit and Qormi district officers, helped by Civil Protection members, searched various warehouses before finding the body of the woman, a mother of a nine-year-old girl.
No missing persons report had been filed before the grim discovery. .
This afternoon investigators descended on a boat where a man was found dead off St Julian's, amid some reports that it could be related to the murder.
But it later it transpired that it was not the man they were looking for but a foreigner. The circumstances of his death are also being investigated.
