The Malta table football team have intensified their preparations ahead of their participation in this year’s World Cup, being held in Frameries, Belgium,  this coming weekend.

This global tournament is held under the auspices of the Federation of International Sports Table Football (FISTF).

The Maltese squad is made up of Charles Aquilina (captain), Massimo Cremona, Jason Pisani, Angelo Borg, Derek Conti, Andrew Abela, Jurgen Balzan, Neil Mark Bonnici, Joseph Agius and John Zammit. The team event will take place on Sunday.

Saturday is reserved for the individual competitions.

Aquilina, Cremona, Pisani and Zammit will compete in the veterans category, Conti, Borg and Abela have entered the Open tournament, Bonnici will play in the Under-19 section, Balzan in the Under-15 and Agius in the Under-12 category.

The Maltese contingent, headed by Joe Zammit Pavia, the president of the Malta Table Football Sports Association (MTFSA), will depart for Belgium on Friday.

Zammit Pavia is also a board member of the  Federation of International Sports Table Football.
