Around 44 representatives from research institutes from all over the EU are expected to attend the Trans European Policy Studies Association (Tepsa) Pre-Presidency Conference, which will be held at the University of Malta’s Valletta campus on November 10 and 11.
During the event, the association will present its recommendations for Malta’s forthcoming presidency of the EU to Deputy Prime Minister Louis Grech.
Three discussion panels are planned on the Mediterranean region’s economic and political dimensions; migration; and Brexit.
Home Affairs and National Security Minister Carmelo Abela, Parliamentary Secretary for EU funds and the EU presidency Ian Borg and MEPs Roberta Metsola, Marlene Mizzi and Alfred Sant will also address the conference.
The event is being hosted by the University’s Institute for European Studies and a number of places are reserved for Maltese participants. These will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis. Attendance is free of charge but participants are to apply by Tuesday to stefan.bezzina@um.edu.mt.
