Maltese pianists Gisèle Grima and Erika Gialanze will perform in a duo piano recital tonight in Valletta. Among others, they will play works by F. Schubert, M. de Falla, A. Vella Gregory, V. Vella, S. Barber, C. Camilleri and M. Ravel.

Grima and Gialanze have been collaborating since 2013 and have since been in demand to perform in various venues around the island. They have premiered works by Maltese composers Albert Pace and Alexander Vella Gregory and are shortly scheduled to debut a work for two pianos by Véronique Vella.

As solo pianists, both have had an extensive amount of experience locally and abroad. Gialanze holds an LRSM and majored in performance at the University of Malta studying with Michael Laus. In 2007, she graduated with a Master of Music in Piano Performance and was invited to perform in Berlin.

Grima pursued her studies in the UK with Nicholas Ashton and Paul Roberts. She is a graduate from the Ian Tomlin Academy of Music, Napier University, Edinburgh and the Royal Northern College of Music, Manchester. She holds a MMus (perf.) from the RNCM and the FRSM.
