A corpse of a woman was picked up off Żonqor Point this morning, the police said. 

The unidentified victim was spotted at around 7am, picked up by the Armed Forces of Malta and taken to Haywharf.

It is still not known whether the victim is the same woman who went missing off Sliema yesterday. Hampered by strong winds and waves, the AFM deployed a helicopter and a boat to search for a woman who was seen falling into the sea last night.

The police are investigating.
