Mellieħa properties open week by Frank Salt Real Estate

Visible trade gap widens

Provisional data for international trade show that the visible trade gap in May this year stood at €106.9 million, up by €32 million compared to the figure in the same month last year, the National Statistics Office said.

There was a decrease in imports of €21.7 million and a decrease in exports of €53.7 million. During the first five months of this year, the visible trade gap widened by €146.1 million, to stand at €559.9 million.

The NSO said this came about because of an increase of €77.2 million in imports and a decrease of €68.8 million in exports.




HP awards for Systec

Hewlett Packard has presented the largest enterprise distributor award for 2007, for the six-country cluster CDG, to Raphael Micallef Trigona, managing director of Systec Limited. Patrick Diaz, in Malta to develop HP's server and storage business locally, said they were impressed by the performance achieved by Systec Limited in Malta.

"The fact that Systec has earned this award for the third consecutive year is a reflection of the training investment by the company and certification achievement by our qualified personnel, as well as the solid relationships developed with our channel partners," said Mr Micallef Trigona, when accepting the award.

In a reinforcement of recognition to Systec Limited, Hewlett Packard has again awarded the prestigious HP Blade Ambassador Award 2007, for the CDG country cluster, to Systec technical consultant Nuno Fernandes. As with the distributor award, this is the third consecutive year in which HP has presented this award to Mr Fernandes.
