Families and children will soon be able to make use of a public garden in Pembroke that has cost €2.4 million.

The EU-funded project will cover an area of 8,000 square metres and include a 2.5 kilometre track, Tourism Parliamentary Secretary Mario de Marco said during an onsite visit.

The garden is close to a cluster of five-star hotels.

The project is being overseen by the Malta Tourism Authority, which also handled the rebuilding of St Paul’s Bay promenade, a walking and cycling trail in Pembroke and the restoration of the Madliena tower.

The projects cost over €20 million, Dr de Marco said.
