Thirteen people were arrested following by the police between yesterday and last night.

The police said the first five arrests were made in Birzebbuga in the morning. When investigating information on drug trafficking in Birzebbuga, the police identified an apartment it suspected was being used for trafficking and abuse.

Five people from Paola and Birzebbuga - three men aged between 35 and 38 and two women, aged 27 and 28, were found in possession of items related to heroin abuse.

Later, the police held a 26-year-old man from Mosta and a 33-year-old man from Naxxar who they suspected had stole a vehicle from Birzebbuga some time earlier.

Last night the Drug Squad held another six people aged between 20 and 26 and resident in Mosta and Attard after they were found in possession of cocaine and cannabis.
