Twelve schoolchildren last year allegedly committed sexual offences against 14 students within school buildings, Education Minister Dolores Cristina said.

She said the cases were reported to the Child Safety Services.

The alleged perpetrators were three schoolchildren aged 15, one aged 14, two aged 13, a 12-year-old, two aged 10, one aged nine and two aged seven years.

The victims were six 14-year-olds, three aged 13 years, and others each aged 12, 11, eight, seven and four years.
