18-year-olds can now apply for a free EU travel pass

Applications close on April 22

Maltese 18-year-olds have until April 22 to apply for a free EU travel pass to explore Europe by rail.

Discover EU is an initiative that provides 18-year-old citizens from the EU and Erasmus+ associated countries with a free travel pass to explore Europe by rail. 

Minister for European Funds Stefan Zrinzo Azzopardi is urging those born between July 1, 2007 and June 30, 2008, to apply. 

“DiscoverEU offers Maltese youths a unique chance to experience Europe first-hand. This initiative is not only about travel - it is about learning, personal growth, and building a deeper understanding of the diverse cultures that make up our European family.

"I strongly encourage all eligible youths to apply and make the most of this life-changing opportunity," he said in a statement.
