More than 2,000 Ecstasy pills were found in Qormi during a police operation yesterday afternoon.

The Drug Squad had been carrying out investigations for weeks and these led to the drug find. Two men were observed trafficking the drugs, the police said

The police said three men - a 22-year-old from Qormi, an 18-year-old from Zabbar and a 20-year-old from Fgura - were arrested in connection with the case.

Duty Magistrate Abigail Lofaro was informed of the case and appointed court experts to help her in the inquiry. Investigations are being carried out by the Drug Squad, led by Inspector Norbert Ciappara.

The police said it was not excluded that some people will be charged in court in connection with the case in the coming days.
