24 dance schools at conference centre event

The Dance Council, Malta, is producing its second major dance event, incorporating 24 local dance schools and companies.

Dancepower II will be presented at the Mediterranean Conference Centre on December 6-7, with the president of the Conseil International de la Dance, Prof. Alkis Raftis, as guest of honour.

Other guests include Joseph Bascetta from the USA, a renowned American opera and ballet director who will also direct the performance, and Salvatore Foresta, a famous Italian choreographer, who will choreograph the grand finale involving one dancer from each academy.

The participating dance schools are the Alison White Dance Studio, the Dance Academy run by Ingrid Buttigieg, Pippa Gee Dance Studio, Central Academy of Ballet directed by Mireille Coleiro and Monique Pelligrini Petit, the YADA Dance Academy, Gozo, run by Felix Busuttil and Daron Galea, Creative Dance Studio directed by Clarissa Borg,>The Dance Workshop directed by Theresa Lungaro Mifsud, Pauleen's Dance Studio, the Rhythm and Dance School of Zurrieq, directed by Olivia Rooney, Nova Productions run by Sarah Mercieca, the Ballet School and the Theatre Arts Company directed by Mary Jane Bellia, The School of Dance directed by Joanna Vella,>El Fuego Spanish Dance Company run by Karina Vella Falzon, St Michael School run by Anne Gatt, Centre Stage and Mill Room Studio, Gozo directed by Caroline Busuttil, Moving Bodies directed by Janet Vella, the Brigitte Gauci Borda School of Ballet, the College of Jazz Dance directed by Felix Busuttil and Justin Roy Barker, the YADA Dance Company, also run by Mr Busuttil and the Tanya Bayona Poutiatine Academy of Ballet.
