Fireworks Festival ends with a bang after dazzling Grand Harbour finale

Qormi's Għaqda Tan-Nar San Sebastjan were crowned winners

The 25th edition of the Malta International Fireworks Festival wrapped up on Thursday night.

The show at the Grand Harbour included a drone show that lit up the skies during the festival's closing celebrations.

A record number of teams participated in this year's festival, which kicked off in Nadur on April 18.

Themed The Luminous Legacy, it continued on April 20, 25 and April 30.

Around 40 fireworks factories and affiliated groups, including eight competitors in the Pyro-Musical category, took part in the event.

On Thursday night, the organisers crowned Qormi's Għaqda Tan-Nar San Sebastjan as winners, followed by St Andrew's Band Fireworks Factory of Luqa and Żebbuġ's Kamra tan-Nar San Filep.
