The AFM Operations Centre was informed that a boat with migrants on board had been sighted drifting approximately 28 nautical miles south-east of Delimara.

A search mission involving AFM sea and aircraft was co-ordinated and the immigrants were taken on board the AFM boats P 24 and Melita 2 and brought ashore at the AFM Maritime Squadron base at Haywharf in Floriana.

The group consists of 26 men and four women all from Somalia.

The Immigration Police are investigating.
