Some 300 vehicles were on display today at Paqpaqli Ghall-Istrina a fund-raising event held by the TV programme Paqpaq to raise funds for L-Istrina.

The event, at Ta'Qali fairs and convention centre, was held for the second year, drawing participation from eight car and motorcycle clubs which displayed cars of every type including many vintage ones.

The exhibition’s star attraction was a Hummer H3 (SUV/truck), which was driven overland from Hummer’s European headquarters in Amsterdam by organiser Chris Sultana and Paqpaq producer Tonio Darmanin, through five countries in 24 hours in aid of charity.

Among the highlights were “dream rides”, where visitors paid in the form of an auction for a ride in the Hummer, an Aston Martin, a brand new truck, or Malta’s oldest car, a Cadillac, dating back to 1904.

The event drew hundreds of people.
