32 people arrested during migration patrols in Gżira

Police received reports of beggars in the area

The police said in a statement 32 people were arrested after being found to be living in Malta without the necessary documents during patrols in Gżira.

The arrests were made on Tuesday morning, following reports of beggars in the locality.

With the help of detention officers, police officers patrolled the area in the early hours and arrested 32 people, including two individuals who were begging for money.

They will be kept at the detention centre until they are repatriated.
