Customs seized 338 bottles of whiskey, liquor and wine from a van that had just landed in Malta from Sicily.

In a statement, Customs said the alcoholic goods were discovered during routine inspections at the catamaran arrivals terminal.

The van had passed through the Customs checkpoint without declaring the goods, which were seized pending investigation by customs officials.
