The number of full-time gainfully occupied persons in December last year dropped by 253 from the preceding month but went up by 370 persons compared to December 2003, the National Statistics Office said yesterday.

The full-time gainfully occupied population stood at 137,149 in the month under review. Last December, there were 20,656 persons holding part-time employment as their primary occupation while 16,283 persons had a part-time job in addition to their full-time employment. This results in a total of 36,939 part-time jobs.

During the same month, there were 8,103 registered unemployed with the Employment and Training Corporation.
