Eight students made it into this year’s Dean’s List, a recognition of excellence within the Faculty of Arts at the University of Malta.

The 23rd edition of this award was supported by Bank of Valletta, which has sponsored it since its inception.

The students were presented with a commemorative certificate by Dominic Fenech, Dean at the Faculty of Arts, and a monetary donation by Charles Azzopardi, executive head at Bank of Valletta.

“This award is not a competitive one, but depends on objective criteria which among other, requires students to obtain a Grade ‘A’ or better in 80 credits from 120 during the first two years of the course,” said Prof. Fenech.

“This means that students awarded a mention on the Dean’s List were first class students from day one - not solely at the end of the course. We are encouraged to welcome one of the largest ever groups in the Dean’s List, testament to the ever increasing level of education in the Faculty of Arts.”

The students who made it into the Dean’s list this year are:

Doreen Attard (B.Humanities), Kirsty Azzopardi (B.A. (Hons) Maltese), Norbert Crockford (B.A. (Hons) History of Art), Ylenia Andrea Iozzi (B.A. (Hons) Chinese), Rachel Saydon (B.A. (Hons) Maltese), Romario Sciberras (B.A. (Hons) Maltese), Klara Sedlarikova (B.A. (Hons) Chinese) and Rebecca Xerri (B.A. (Hons) Archaeology).
