800 take part in the L-istrina Palace Run

Funds were raised for the Community Chest Fund

Some 800 people ran for a worthy cause early on Sunday, taking part in the second edition of the 10km L-istrina Palace Run linking San Anton Palace with the presidential palace in Valletta.

The event raised funds for the Malta Community Chest Fund.

The first athlete reached the finish line in just over 30 minutes.

A medal was handed to every participant, with the podium finishers also receiving a model of the Valletta Palace.

The presentations were made by President Myriam Spiteri Debono who thanked the participants and assured them that their donations would help patients and their families who sought the Community Chest Fund's help.
